Upgrade your backplate fasteners with Torx drive pattern ones. These will be a lot harder to strip at the head and cause major headaches when attempting a repair. The kit also addresses and helps mitigate the concern with the backplate holding your butt-stock from shifting back and eventually separating from your upper receiver because now you can add more clamping force to your screws without concern about removal.
- Torx-pattern screws are more difficult to strip than the OEM hex
- Custom length screws on the ejection side offer added clamping force
- Use your favorite flavor of thread locker (Loctite 242)
