Description
During our testing & development of the other MCX products we offer, we noticed that the short “rattler style” 300BO MCXs sometimes felt like they were a bit over-sprung. Unless we had a full baffled suppressor with plenty of back pressure, sometimes we did not get enough gas and back-pressure to cycle the gun reliably causing ejection issues, no bolt hold open, or simply did not run. Further comparison across our test guns revealed that the OEM equips the MCXs across the range and chamberings with the same springs! We felt like it was useful to develop a set of springs with a little less spring rate and preload (force required to open the bolt), to better fit a system with less available power in the gas system like a short 300BlackOut MCX.
These springs will allow you to run your weakest subsonic ammo that did not run reliably before in your 300 BlackOut shorties. The new flow-thru cans with little to no back-pressure yield a system that closely functions as an “un-suppressed” open muzzle configuration. These springs will help bring that system to a more adequate and reliable performance envelope that bolt hold opens easier.
We STRONGLY recommend to ONLY USE these spring sets in a 300 BlackOut chambered MCX, and NEVER in any other cartridge chambering, you could damage something!
